Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has revealed that he fought cancer for a second time during lockdown.
In an interview with The Sun, the rock legend said he was diagnosed with rare and aggressive small-cell cancer.
“I’ve had cancer two different ways now. I had lung cancer in 2017 and I had small-cell more recently that I fought in the last lockdown,” he told the British tabloid.
Wood confirmed that he “came through with the all-clear.”
He said working on paintings of his theater producer wife Sally and their four-year-old twins Gracie and Alice helped keep him strong during his secret battle with the small-cell cancer.
This type of malignancy is commonly found in the lungs and can affect areas including the bladder, prostate, pancreas and lymph nodes.
