MC5 Announce First New Album In Over 50 Years, U.S. Tour

MC5 are planning a big comeback in 2022, with new music and a U.S tour.

The Punk pioneers’ brief 8-stop tour will kick off in their hometown at El Club in Detroit on May 5.

Tickets for the concerts will go on sale on March 11, and its details are available on Wayne Kramer‘s Facebook page.

Kramer and company also announced that they will release two new songs – “Heavy Lifting” and “Edge of the Switchblade” – before the tour.

“I’m thrilled about that. The results are earth-shaking rock and roll,” Kramer said in a statement.

The band’s first album in more than 50 years will be released in October.

MC5 was formed in the 1960s and split up in 1972.
