George Harrison Earns First Solo No. 1 On Billboard’s Top Rock Albums Chart

The 50th anniversary reissue of George Harrison‘s 1970 triple album All Things Must Pass debuted atop Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart dated August 21, earning the late singer his first solo No. 1 on the chart’s 15-year-old history.

The album hit the top spot, logging 32,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the tracking week ending August 12, according to MRC Data.

Harrison’s previous peak was the No. 7 registered by Early Takes: Volume 1 in 2012.

Harrison, who passed away in 2001, previously hit No. 1 on Top Rock Albums as part of The Beatles, who boast four No. 1s, most recently upon the 50th anniversary reissue of Abbey Road, which topped the survey for four weeks beginning in October 2019.

Harrison is the second former Beatle, after Paul McCartney, to lead Top Rock Albums in 2021.

On the all-genre Billboard 200, All Things Must Pass ranks No. 7, its first appearance within the chart’s top 10 since March 1971. It reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 January 2, 1971, and reigned for seven weeks.
