With Covid-19 cases surging across the country, the first two shows of David Lee Roth‘s Las Vegas Residency at Mandalay Bay’s House Of Blues on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day have been canceled.
A statement from the venue said former Van Halen frontman’s shows on December 31, 2021 and January 1, 2022, have been canceled due to “unforeseen circumstances related to COVID and out of an abundance of caution for those working and attending the shows.”
“Refunds will be automatically processed, and ticketholders will be notified directly,” the statement added.
Roth, who plans to retire from performing live after this residency, recently added several shows due to overwhelming demand. The shows are currently scheduled to resume on January 5.
Roth originally kicked off a residency at the same venue in January 2020. However, in March 2020, he postponed the final six shows due to the coronavirus pandemic.
