For 20 years, KOOL 105 has been your home for Mile High Hits. You've let us in to your home and your hearts. You've also supported KOOL and many charitable causes, helping people all over Denver, and for that we thank you! But our work isn't done yet. This web page is a chance for us to increase public awareness of some of our favorite causes and charities around the metro area. So if you have a few extra hours or a few extra dollars and are looking to donate to a reputable charity, you can count on KOOL's Cause of the Month to keep you up to date. Thanks for caring, Denver!
DENVER RESCUE MISSION
For over 115 years, the Denver Rescue Mission has embraced those who are homeless and alone. Since our inception, the Mission has restored dignity, provided shelter and offered tools for self-sufficiency. Though the Denver Rescue Mission has grown over the years, and now serves from five ministry locations, our foundation remains unchanged. We continue to meet people at their physical and spiritual points of need and to impart hope to all those who enter our doors.
The increasing requests for the Mission’s unique services and the opportunity to provide an innovative solution to Denver’s homeless problem have led the Mission to undertake the first capital campaign in the institution’s history. The campaign will add emergency shelter space, provide transitional housing for individuals and families, and serve more people in its New Life rehabilitation program.
In general, the $12,500,000 Changing Lives Capital Campaign will:
• Provide transitional housing for up to 77 homeless families at any given time.
• Expand the number of New Life Program participants from 152 to 245.
• Provide transitional housing for up to 38 graduates of the New Life Program.
• Provide up to 300 beds at its Lawrence Street Shelter.
• Provide housing for interns who assist with the mission’s outreach programs.
Miracles happen here. Men and women who were once overwhelmed by their struggles are touched by the Mission’s Christian love, compassion, and the caring assistance of its staff and volunteers. Here, they find the power to break free of the addictions, habits, and lack of education that kept them trapped in cycles of poverty and homelessness. Here, they find hope.
Lives redeemed. Families rescued. Hope restored. Miracles.

KOOL Cause of the Month Partners with the Daniels Fund:
KOOL 105 is proud to partner with the Daniels Fund for Cause of the Month. Philanthropist Bill Daniels loved America and believed each of us has a duty to offer help and hope to others. He established the Daniels Fund in 1997 to support programs that encourage personal responsibility and achievement. When Bill died in the year 2000, the bulk of his estate transferred to Daniels Fund, making it the largest foundation in the Rocky Mountain Region.
In the Fund's articles of incorporation, Bill directed the foundation to concentrate its efforts in two primary areas: College Scholarships and Community Support, including programs designed to help the homeless, physically handicapped and elderly individuals, as well as those suffering from substance abuse and mental handicaps.
